Chapter 2

The wind was blowing roughly than usual. It cooled down the humid air that has been hanging in the atmosphere since morning. Harlow stood by the cliff all alone, her red hair blowing by the wind as she looked down at the unknown. It was suppose to be a simple job but she got her feelings involved. Now all her next actions had no happy endings for her. There is no win win situation.

She was suppose to be stronger but at the sight of Darius Cuza, she turned weak. She allowed those mesmerizing eyes and enigmatic soul get to her. She yearned to see the fire in his eyes, she wanted to be the reason for the strength in Darius. But that dream never came true and it never will.

The silent air was disturbed by the screeching of tires. Harlow turned around and was stunned to see the magnificent Aston Martin in front of her. She did not understand why it came to her. A deep revulsion started to seep into her bones at the sight of Sienna, coming out of the car. Sienna stood by the car, staring down at Harlow before she was going to rip her head off.

Harlow meticulously looked at Sienna for the first time. Many said she was a ravishing person, a word that usually was used for Harlow. Harlow had to agree that she was striking, someone you would instantly notice. But she did not care about that, she wanted to know what made her so intriguing inside. What does Sienna have that Harlow doesn't.

“What do you want with Darius? You took him away from me and now you plan to kill him?” asked Sienna, her eyes bore into Harlow's, full of disgust.

“This does not involve you Sienna. You do not understand anything,” replied Harlow with indignation.

“Of course this involves me. I love Darius. I can handle losing his love but I could not handle losing him entirely,” said Sienna back. As the wind started to pick up speed, Sienna's head started to swirl. But Sienna pushed it aside and made herself stronger.

“You are not the only one who is in love with him,” shouted Harlow with pain. Her feelings were finally shown. She said beyond any doubt that she was in love with Darius.

“Liar! If you loved him than why are you trying to kill him?” cried Sienna with belligerence tainted in her eyes.

“You never lost his love, Sienna,” said Harlow as she tried to repress the desolation and ire inside her.

“What are you talking about? He chose you over me. You took him away from me Harlow. You took everything!” said Sienna as she raised her voice in anger.

“You could live happily without Darius. You have your society, your family, your best friend and your lavish life. Life would not be any different if Darius was not with you,” replied Harlow.

“That is not true. My life would be meaningless without him. He means everything to me. He is the reason why I’m still alive today,” responded Sienna as she felt her knees starting to get weak.

“Well you mean everything to him too! He loved you so much it was unbearable to watch. I knew that every moment I spent with him, he was thinking of you!” said Harlow as she let out all the painful tears.

Sienna was bewildered by those words. She was not the only one yearning for love, Darius felt it too. Sienna reckoned that Darius moved on easily and without pain but Harlow explained otherwise. As she watched the tears trickling down Harlow's cheeks, her hands started to tremble. She suddenly felt so cold and her head was getting lighter.

Her head started to swirl furiously and all Sienna wanted to do was lean on something because her feet were starting to feel numb. Then she heard her name being called from behind. Harlow screamed out of frustration at the sound of Darius calling Sienna’s name so lovingly.

Sienna recognize that voice instantly and turned around. A tall figure was standing next to a black car and she suddenly felt an instant pull towards it. Her name was being called again but it started to fade away, just like the other noises around her. The figure came towards her and she fell helplessly into his arms.

“Sienna! Sienna! Mi amor can you here me?” said Darius frantically as he gently shook her arm and softly stroke her face. A deep fear embedded itself inside Darius. He did not want to lose Sienna again. He refused to let her go. Sienna on the other hand gathered her strength to stay awake as her name was being called over and over again.

“I’m sorry Darius,” she said softly as she looked into those ravishing mismatched eyes. Darius could see the pain in her eyes and for some reason, he felt it too. Sienna continued to shiver, her skin turning ice cold and then suddenly her eyes were shut.

“Sienna! Wake up. Sienna....” called Darius in a raised tone. But she did not move. The torment in Darius's heart started to sear. He called her name over and over again, hoping that she would open her eyes. When his actions gave no response, he could feel his heart shatter into pieces. Immediately the pain evolved into determination and without hesitation, Darius lift her up and position her in the passenger seat of his car.

As they drove away, Harlow went back to the edge of the cliff. This time she cried like she never did before. She was hurt because her love would never be returned. Even though she drove a wedge between Darius and Sienna, they were still deeply in love with each other. For the first time, she failed. She failed to finish the job she was sent to do and she failed to win Darius's love.

The thing that bruised her the most was when Darius arrived. For the first time she saw the fire in his eyes. But the fire was not ignited by her. It was sparked by Sienna. The tears continued to stain her cheeks and blur her vision. Harlow turned around to face the road that Darius took. She could see a tiny speck of black on the long straight road. That would be the last thing she remembered of Darius Cuza, him going back to Sienna Masenfer.

With that, she spread her arms out, looked at the tawny glittering sky for the last time and fell backwards to the deep unknown.

Chapter 1

Salvation in Love.

Chapter 1

The French scenery passed by speedily from the tinted windows. The sleek black car was driving at high speed but it was not fast enough for Sienna. She could have easily press down the pedal to a speed only trained drivers like herself could handle and control.

She continued to dial Darius's cell phone over and over again in vain. She called his mansion in Romania but the chamberlain informed that he has not stayed there lately. The last place he stayed was his mother's town house in France.

Not being able to get hold of Darius made Sienna more nervous and frustrated. The frustration already started when she was on Teagan's yacht in Germany. After getting the answer she needed which her friends failed to get hold of, Sienna suddenly went into monarch mode. For the first time she was stern and she expressed her anger towards her friends for not telling her immediately about the plot to kill Darius.

All of them were afraid to tell her, afraid to see her reaction. Some of them thought Sienna was not ready to face it. Plus they thought she does not have the power to do anything. Their underestimation towards her was unbearable. They all assumed that since Sienna just entered the society, she has no knowledge about it. That she has not fully understood the perilous lifestyle that comes with being a member.

Speechlessness invaded each person during and after Sienna’s first monarch blow out. Even though they belittled her, she was still the future monarch of their society. She will eventually take the throne and they would all have to be under her rule. A sudden surprise came across Sienna when one of her friends, her newest friend that is, broke the silence.

“Come on, we will book you a flight when we get back to the castle. You will be able to leave Germany tonight,” said Tristan after the speech of fury from Sienna.

“She cannot go. We do not know what Harlow is capable of. What if something bad happens to her?” said Julez immediately. As much as Sienna loves her, Julez undermining is not helping Sienna in her moment of rage.

“Yes, we do not know what Harlow is capable of but Sienna can take care of herself,” replied Tristan confidently which made Sienna cherish him more.

“No, she is not going alone. Sienna is unprepared and in many ways. She doesn't have a plan right now,” Jesse replied seriously.

“I agree. You can't just send her to confront Harlow. What if that confrontation breaks into combat?” continued Teagan shortly. Sienna just stood still, trying real hard to control her emotions. She was immensely furious at the fact that her friends think she is not capable of handling the situation.

Tristan caught Sienna's angry eyes and for a moment they just stared at each other. Tristan then looked back at all of them. His expression was calm but his voice was full of power, some thing Sienna never seen in him before.

“I disagree with all of you. Sienna is very well prepared and if it breaks into combat, Sienna can beat Harlow. I have no doubt in that. As for the plan, we will think of something on the way. But I have a feeling Sienna already has a plan inside her head,” replied Tristan.

“What makes you so confident about that?” blurted Jesse with venom.

“Because I trained her for the past 3 month! Both Meraille and I have seen how good she is. What most of you tried to master in months, she did it in weeks. Dare I say she is almost a great of a fighter as Darius,” said Tristan in raised voice.

“All of you should stop underestimating her. You all sent her here so she can train herself to be a good leader. But after observing, she has turned out to be great leader. She is going to take the throne in the society, so stop doubting and start respecting her,” continued Meraille as the lake breeze danced with her almost dry chocolate hair.

Sienna was stunned at the words of Tristan and Meraille. They really believed she was ready which made Sienna more confident. With that, Sienna got off the yacht and back to the speedboat. Sienna did not have the time to argue, not when Darius's life is at stake. So she revved up the engine and stared back at the yacht.

“Tristan, Meraille! We better start moving,” hollered Sienna.

The car came to a halt in front of Annaliese's town house. Sienna instantly snapped back to reality and got out of the car. She barged into the house and straightaway went to Darius's room. Sienna stood in the centre of his room and instantly the pain in her heart started to burn again. All the memories of Darius flooded back into her mind. Every touch, every kiss and every feeling they held together came alive.

Sienna recalled the last time they've seen each other. She remembered vividly that she would try to move on from Darius. Their relationship was too dangerous to continue, that was why Sienna left. But as she tried to create a new path, the road leads her back to Darius. That was something she could not understand.

She went through Darius's things on his desk and on his side tables. There was nothing there that indicated where he was. Sienna then went down to the garage. The only car there was Darius's new Aston Martin. She was somewhat repelled by the car because she suddenly remembered Darius and Harlow lying on the hood together at the cliff.

Then it struck her. If she could not get hold of Darius, she could get her hands on Harlow. The first place that came to mind was the cliff. As much as it irks her, the Aston Martin was the fastest vehicle that can take her there. Sienna got in and broke every speed limit there was.
